After inspecting the vehicle, you can check Kelly's Blue Book on line at www.kbb.com for an estimated value and get ballpark repair estimates over the phone. Transfer the problems you have found (from the notes you have taken) to the worksheet in the back of this book. Then total the repair (Ballpark) estimates and deduct that total from the estimated bluebook value. This should give you an idea of how much to offer.
